The first HOC for e-waste in Ghana, and the first of its kind in the West African region, was commissioned by the Ghanaian Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation in Accra, Ghana, on October 25, 2004. The commissioning took place in the presence of representatives from BMZ, KfW Development Bank, GOPA Infra GmbH, and other stakeholders and guests. The new HOC is the cornerstone of Ghana's national e-waste system, designed to channel e-waste to environmentally sound recycling practices.

Upon invitation, Mathias Lueg, Managing Director of GOPA Infra, participated in the Business Forum of the yearly Ambassadors Conference at the Foreign Office in Berlin on 10 September 2024. The gathering of the heads of more than 220 German missions abroad provides a forum for interaction with the German business community.

A team led by GOPA Infra has been selected to conduct a comprehensive Feasibility Study and create Preliminary Engineering Designs for the Kisumu-Kakira Expressway, a major infrastructure project aimed at connecting Kenya and Uganda. This initiative is part of a broader plan to enhance regional connectivity and support economic development between the two neighbouring countries.

GOPA Infra, as lead partner of the Consortium with GOPA Worldwide Consultants, Planco Consultants and the local Partner Mostaqbal, is currently implementing the TVET project “Promotion of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (Phase I)” in Jordan financed by KfW and the local contribution of the Crown Prince Foundation (CPF). The Jordan branch of GOPA Infra serves as the on-site coordination platform of the project, where our Senior Architect, Mrs. Diala Anabtawi, is the local focal point for the project coordination.

Patience is defined as perseverance in the face of delay or being able to wait for a long time without getting irritated or bored. Those virtues had once again to be demonstrated by GOPA Infra – more than two years after having submitted the tender for the KfW-funded project "School Construction Programme (SCP) III & IV", the 4.5 million € consulting contract with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (MoPWH) was finally signed on 26 March 2024 in Amman, Jordan.
