Upon invitation, Mathias Lueg, Managing Director of GOPA Infra, participated in the Business Forum of the yearly Ambassadors Conference at the Foreign Office in Berlin on 10 September 2024. The gathering of the heads of more than 220 German missions abroad provides a forum for interaction with the German business community. This year the meeting focused on the competitive advantages associated with transformation – an area in which the German missions are bridge-builders when it comes to supporting German activities abroad.

Panels and workshops addressed topics like decarbonization, artificial intelligence, and implementing national climate targets. Of particular relevance were interchanges in small groups with selected German country representatives including DRC Kongo, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Ukraine.

​The guest of honour at the Business Forum was the Indian Foreign Minister Dr Jaishankar who discussed the economic partnership between India and Germany with Foreign Minister Baerbock. In his keynote address Dr Jaishankar highlighted the importance of infrastructure development in India and the associated business opportunities.
