For an upcoming project opportunity we are looking for a s suitable expert in urban climate projects.
Task description: 

The overall objective of this TA operation is to increase the funding available for low-carbon and climate resilient urban infrastructure projects by promoting a more conducive local financial and institutional environment for those projects.

The Urban Climate Projects Expert as Deputy Team Leader will support the Team Leader in managing the TA operation and will replace the Team Leader when necessary.

Qualifications: 
  • Master’s degree in environmental science, climate change, urban planning, civil or environmental engineering, sustainable development, or a related field from a recognised university;
  • Excellent knowledge of English; Additional knowledge of Spanish or French is required;
  • Minimum 10 years' professional experience in urban climate projects, with a focus on climate resilience, adaptation, and mitigation;
  • At least 8 years' experience in working with municipalities, regions and other public bodies focused on the preparation, design, technical evaluation &implementation of urban climate projects i.e. green infrastructure, energy efficiency in buildings, renewable energy solutions, sustainable transportation and waste management;
  • Experience in providing advisory services to governments, municipalities, IFIs, EU agencies or international development agencies on urban climate adaptation and mitigation measure;
  • At least 3 completed advisory assignments for a total experience of 4 years in providing technical support to urban climate projects in emerging and developing countries, especially in project preparation and feasibility analysis; 
  • At least 2 completed advisory assignments in providing advice to municipalities, regions and other public bodies on compliance with EU standards and green taxonomy (i.e. for alignment with the Paris Agreement) in the preparation of urban infrastructure projects.
