Objectives:

The project goal is that taxation and tax revenue are enhanced so that more Ghanaians receive access to improved public services.

The overall objective is “to help GRA staff to better use newly implemented IT applications/infrastructure to ultimately increase the tax to GDP ratio”. This is to be achieved through the establishment of a fully equipped building to accommodate the IT training centre, the development and implementation of a professional IT training organisation and the development and implementation of a decentralised Computer-Based IT Training (CBT) concept.

Through the attainment of these components, the project will build capacities of the GRA, which will enable them to guarantee the longevity of the project. The availability of a new IT Training facility, built and equipped to the highest standards, as well as the development and implementation of a professional IT Training Organisation and the development and implementation of a decentralised Computer-Based IT Training (CBT) concept will enable GRA staff to better identify prospective tax payers/individuals evading taxation and it should also help instil social acceptance of taxation and provide a deterrent to tax evasion.
