During a mission to Iraq, Mr Mathias Lueg, Managing Director of GOPA Infra, met with the President of ReFAATO (Reconstruction Fund for Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations), Dr Mohammed Al A'ani, to discuss the progress of the KfW-funded German Credit Facility to Support the Return of IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) in Iraq (GCFI). Both sides expressed their appreciation for the successful cooperation since 2017, and agreed on the desirability of continuing the Management and Monitoring Consulting (MMC) services provided by GOPA Infra. Also present at the meeting were Eng. Layth D. Mahmood, Head of the Grants and International Donations Section of ReFAATO and Dr Fouad Al Momen, the GOPA Infra Team Leader.

After the meeting with the ReFAATO President, Mr Lueg and Dr Fouad travelled on to Mosul in Nineveh Governorate to attend a public information event at which returning IDP women presented their small businesses. The women had received support from the GCFI-programme to develop their business skills and improve the marketing of their products.
