For an ongoing project in the MENA region, we are currently looking for junior Information Technology (IT) Engineers.
Task description: 
  • Hardware: Set-up & configure new work places, computers/ laptops, and peripheral equipment (incl. mobile workplaces for workshops/ presentations); Install, maintain, troubleshoot, update operating systems, user applications, as well as hardware; Ensure all software is licensed, keep record thereof & renew when necessary; Remove & dispose of non-functional equipment; Collaborate with vendors to schedule repairs & maintenance.
  • Network: Monitor network to ensure functionality & availability to all system users; Install, maintain, troubleshoot & repair cables, wireless & other network infrastructure.
  • Security: Maintain up-to-date and appropriate anti-virus software; Inform & train users.
  • System Planning: Research & recommend improved infrastructure processes & technologies incl. growth planning; Support the procurement process incl. research of solutions, engage with potential vendors, recommend products & evaluate bids; Test new equipment & applications and provide thorough feedback.
Qualifications: 

Qualifications and Skills

  • University degree in IT Technology or similar;
  • Ability to understand and readiness to work in a multi-cultural environment;
  • Results-oriented and good communication skills;
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory; any other language shall be considered positively.

Professional Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience and proven track record as IT engineer;
  • Competent working knowledge of all relevant office procedures incl. experience with experience with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of operating systems and hardware.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and further IT programs necessary for the execution of the tasks;
  • Capacity to establish priorities, address IT issues and needs of staff, and take leading role in problem-solving when situation demands so;
  • Professional knowledge and capacity to manage IT related documentation with accurate standards and quality;

Additional Qualifications/ Experience which shall be positively evaluated if available

  • Knowledge and experience in working environments of emergency response actors and donors, operating in MENA region, and participation in multi-discipline project teams shall be positively evaluated;
  • Good knowledge with windows server AD, firewalls (Fortinet), and switches (HP); Other companies can be accepted as well;
  • Good knowledge with VPNs and its configurations, as well as with VOIP & with cloud systems.
Other information : 

The incumbent shall work under the direct supervision, and reports to the senior IT officer or the designated officer. On specific issues determined by the CEO, the incumbent will also inform/ report and support the office of the CEO.
