Description: 
For an upcoming project opportunity we are looking for a technical environmental, social, health & safety expert.
Task description: 

The ESHS expert shall support the PEA and the Resident Engineer in the supervision and monitoring of the Project with regard to adherence to the Construction ESMP/PA-ESMP incl. work site assessment and tracking of contractors ESHS performance and the contractor’s grievance mechanism. A more elaborate list of duties can be found attached.

Qualifications: 
  • He/She shall have at least a degree in environmental sciences, civil engineering or a similar qualification and must be accredited as Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Officer.
  • He/She must have at least 8 years of relevant cumulative experience in performing as ESHS Officer on large infrastructure projects.
  • He/She must have successfully completed at least 2 road projects of similar magnitude and complexity in a similar capacity within the last 8 years.
  • The candidate must have relevant experience with FIDIC “Pink Book” - Conditions of Contract for Construction.
  • In addition, he/she must have at least 3 years working experience in Sub-Sahara Africa, preferably in East Africa and Kenya.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory and knowledge of Kiswahili is an advantage.
