For our ongoing project in the MENA region, we are looking for a communications associate.
Task description: 
  • Manage and maintain website content keeping it up-to-date with information, photos and links. Produce a monthly report of website performance.
  • Oversee the production of various communication tools including design and the printing process.
  • Assist in the creation, editing and retouching of photographs and short videos.  
  • Maintain good relationships with media influencers, journalists, media outlets and relevant audiences.
  • Support the communications team in coordinating internal and external communications to reflect the programme mission and core objectives. 
  • Collect information from various programmes and departments for documentation and filing.
  • Assist in event planning and coordinate events, meetings and conferences.
  • Assist the Section Head in the process of producing and disseminating communication projects.
  • Undertake any other related tasks as may be required by the Communication Section Head, the Director of Finance & Administration, or the COO.
  • University degree or equivalent in a relevant field of specialisation.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Sound working knowledge of web-based media and social networks.
  • Proficient in MS Office, familiar with design software (i.e. Photoshop, InDesign, Video Maker, or Premiere), and content management (advantage).
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and facilitation skills, even under time pressure.
  • Solid editing and researching skills with great attention to details.
  • Ability and readiness to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills; demonstrated ability to lead work independently and ability to prioritise competing demands/work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with different objectives simultaneously.
  • Proven access to international media.
  • Experience in working with international organisations in the Syrian context is considered an advantage.
