Task description: 

The job as Business Support Employee covers a diverse range of activities. The main focus is on supporting our Consultants in the production of tender dossiers for technical assistance projects as well as in project management.

Your tasks in brief:

  • Do background researches regarding countries, institutions, potential cooperation partners and organisations;
  • Prepare country and sector descriptions as well as company profiles;
  • Compile the required administrative and support documents;
  • Search in internal and external databases, through social media and in your personal content-related networks to identify most suitable candidates for expert positions;
  • Contact potential candidates, obtain references;
  • Prepare qualification tables and produce shortlists of candidates;
  • (Pre-) Selection of the most suitable candidates together with the project manager in charge;
  • Collect the necessary documents (CV, statements, etc.);
  • Negotiate fees/contracts with the candidates; and
  • Help us with actively expanding our expert network.
  • Academic degree, ideally related to our fields of work (infrastructure, civil engineering, urban planning, transport, water, sanitation) or in social sciences, regional sciences, linguistics;
  • Staff recruiting experience or experience as project assistant would be considered an asset;
  • Interest in infrastructure-related topics and International Development Cooperation and ideally first professional experience in this field, for example through internships with donor organisations (KfW Delvelopment Bank, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH etc.);
  • Excellent knowledge of standard MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and
  • Business fluent language skills in English and French or Spanish; at least basic German language skills.
